This sht has been stuck in my head so.......

Oasis "Wonderwall"
It should be stuck in yours too.....

Current piece of mind......

I heard a long time ago that when writing is your passion you set yourself apart. Your more than just a part of society but the natural observer, taking the moments and capturing them. Not with pictures but with words. I heard about the beats along time ago, and use to want to be that. To be known for my passion rather than the standard society would place me in. I wanted to be Ginseburg, regarded as a poetic genius just from living. I'm a long way from that as my current mission to capture the energy from this current rollercoaster called my life. My music is a reflection of the life I'm living, the rush, the party, the moments. It's only gonna gonna get better, deeper, closer....
NEway, not to deviate but I recently saw and purchased "On the road" by Jack Kerouac. The book is regarded as a era changing piece of literature that inspired the children of the 50's to become to children of the 60's. I heard the author got high and wrote the whole story in a matter of days on one long scroll of paper. The story is about him and his friends journey through america and the moments that he manages to capture in his work. I read this and think of me and the crew when our lives will lead us to place us we've never been, and to moments I'll give back to you. That's the power of words, music, art.

Dig.

Yea, I get's deep. Lol.

F.orever L.oving Y.our Y.outh........

T.R.O.Y.....

So, I was watching VH1 and they were playing the 100 greatest Hip Hop songs. I don't know how you feel about VH1 rating anything Hip Hop but for the most part I was pleased with the selection. I didn't watch it all the way to number 1 but what I did see was this video. Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth "They Reminice Over You" I remember this song, I remember loving the flow and the beat not knowing who it was that was capturing my attention. Its funny that after this Pete Rock would go on to be one of the biggest producers in Hip Hop. So from me to you...

You already know I have to post this......

Obama Endorses Hip Hop Culture. Yessir.

Undisputed......

Whats good WRLD. Besides how I'm feeling...... haha. I haven't wrote anything in a minute. But I'm back to the blog. Myspace just installed a new music player that's sort of pissing me off. Got me thinking about just pressing refresh cause they just can't seem to get my plays right. Yea, I want it to say 100,000 in one day but that's the work I gotta put in, not the damn glitch. The 11nth is approaching, I need a guitarest, P.I waddown, shoutout to the big homie Gemstones. So far, the feedback from Release has been good, but I got so much more music coming, you don't even understand. I don't stop, and I'm about to flood the marketplace til everything on the web says JDP on it. 2 Videos coming, I'm fresh.......haha. Air raid is coming, then Defying Gravity. My mind is somewhere right now. You know my stand on life my dude, move forward and F.orever L.ove Y.our Y.outh. Yea, it means that. This is the update, I hope you guys stick with me through all of this cause we're gonna have a good ass time on this journey. Yessir.

Ok, I'm gonna chill on the obvious. But I'm saying.......

The boy dot & Gemstones.......

October 11th.

Also, Gemini just dropped this joint. Siiiick

Unappreciated.

Why the republicans may win....

“It is thus clear that, just as some are by nature free, others are by nature slaves and for these latter the condition of slavery is both beneficial and just.”
-Aristotle

Look past what's given. Look @ what's held back.

The Micheal Jackson jacket of today....

FLYY CITY LIVE!! @ THE FUNKY BUDDHA!

Srowe's Bday.

Srowe's 21st Bday. We have fun man. Thats all. Just fun. lol.

Boredom.....

Good grief.

I feel like charlie brown.

Colorless, or the tasteless bland of grey.

Lost in thoughts and rhymes and rhythms.

Nowhere near where my thoughts are supposed to be.

How can they be.

His thoughts, his words, his lessons

Are french to me.

And I took spanish.

And this is chemistry.

So I'm all fucked up. Lol

I take that back, my thoughts are where there supposed to be.

Its this desk, this book, this class that is out of place.

This is a art school.

I'm suppose to think about the sounds

The feel of the words as they flow through me

The energy of the music as it bangs out of headphones

The stage.

The mic.

Home.

Not compounds.

Not elements, at least not in chemical sense.

A artist scribbles pictures next to me.

Stills for a comic book or something.

She hasn't stopped since we got here.

She's dope.

I think her name is muse...Or I just heard it like that.

Maybe this crap is his art,

Not ours.

Not mine.

He says newton, I think biggie.

He says equation. I think verses.

She mumbles under her breath,"Why did I take this class"

I think "cause I need it to pass"

I wonder what he thinks we think

Does he know we're only passing through here.

Only spending moments in his world waiting to catch the train to ours.

This room has no windows.

And I can't see the clock.

Wack.

Extra wack.

Maybe I should be paying attention

Pretend to be interested

Or something.

Good grief....

I feel like charlie brown.

FlashBack Fridays.....

Pink is the shit.....yea....Pink is the shit.

Pink "So What" Vid!!

I fked with Pink when she first dropped because unlike the jessicas and the britneys she could actually sing. I fucked with her harder when she opted to go her own route rather then be made into a jessica or a britney. Then her songs started to become about real issues, and nowadays I fk with her just off principle. This song aint bad either.....

The worst voicemail ever left. DA just sent me this, some random guy leaves a message for a women who's about to be upset when she checks her messages. Wow. Lol.

You already know what it is........

TONITE!!!!

Elevators for dummies.....

HAHA! Who really needs these instructions?

Scratch that.....I need THIS Tee in my life...

Anything with Frank is a purchase TO ME.

Artwork that works.....

I'm not posting the song, you can find that elsewhere. I do like the re-done version better than the first though the song still doesn't hit me like stronger did. Maybe that's the point, this is a whole other type of artist who's speaking to me now, every album is Kanye's assention from College Dropout to worlds biggest artist. This is the album artwork for the single and its sick. Before you even listen to the song you know, you can picture in your head where this song is going and what its going to be saying. Artwork that works....

She wanted to change.......

"She wanted to change"

She said she wanted to change.
Said she wanted to growAnd become what she was destined to be
Held me, taught rules of these games Grew herself off greasy fingers,
Gun slingers, slum ringers,
She was built from the burrow
Telling me trust god and pray for cash 2morro.
She said she wanted change
Searched for hers in risks
In pricks, backroom parlor tricks.
Still she held me knowin hers was still the best
And plays a game of mice and men that starts from when we met
Prefers luxury to luv tho her words portay the former
That's the flaw in swimming places that u kno the waters warmer.
Races for arms, a false reformer
But @ times a great performerAnd all the worlds a stage.
She said she wanted change.
Tho I find her infidelities
Built off backs of those who luv her for those who make the dreams she selling me.
The sweetest lies she's telling me
Then yells being born here is a felony.
Allows the stories to be told from the view of the few
and once seduced don't give a fuck of things that matter to u.
She said she wanted to change
She's noticing that crack and the flaws
The lack of applause and tears that have cracked thru the walls.
The ones she followed never loved her, just enjoyed her position
Spread herself to other places where the voices can't understand her or listen
Fear gave her a bit of ammunition.
But she's seen the effect of its use
And never thought she'd find her worth crash so far from the roof.
She said just give her the truth.
She said just give her a chance
To show her colors when the picture is painted with different hands.
Forgive her flaws if u can.
She said she wanted to change.
I tell her go to his hands
She said wanted to change
And I believe that she can.
Change.Peace.-jdpMyspace.com/uptopjdp

20 Questions........

Nah, not talking bout 50. These are 20 questions the press would ask Sarah Palin if anyone could get to her.

1.In a broad and long-term sense, would you have responded differently to the attacks of 9/11?
2.Is Iraq a democracy?
3.What’s the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite?
4.What is your preferred plan for peace between Israel and Palestine? A two state solution? What about Jerusalem?
5.How do you feel about French President Nicolas Sarkozy's recent visit to Syria? Do you believe the United States should negotiate with leaders like President Bashar al-Assad?
6.Nearly 40 percent of the world's population lives in China and India. Who are those countries' leaders?
7.Do you support the U.S.-India Civil Nuclear Agreement, which would lift restrictions on sales of nuclear technology and fuel to India, a country which hasn’t signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty?
8.Other than more drilling, what steps do you suggest the U.S. take in order to move toward energy independence? Do you believe more investment is needed in alternative energy research? If so, how would you recommend this funding be allocated?
9.How would you balance concerns over human rights and freedom in China with the United States' growing economic interdependence with that country?
10.What's more important: securing Russia's cooperation on nuclear proliferation and Iran, or supporting Georgia's NATO bid? If Vladimir Putin called you on the phone and said, "It's one or the other," what would you tell him?
11.Critique the foreign policy of the last administration. Name its single greatest success, and its most critical failure.
12.What do you think will be the most defining foreign-policy issue in the next five years?
13.What role should the United States play in the global effort to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS? Should it support contraception, or abstinence only?
14.You've said that the federal government spends too much money. What, in your view, is the appropriate level of spending as a percentage of GDP?
15.You're an advocate of reducing environmental restrictions on drilling. How much oil needs to be found in the United States before the country achieves energy independence?
16.What are your picks for the three most enlightening books written on foreign policy in the last five years?
17.Who among the world's leaders can be listed as the top three friends of the United States and why?
18.In your opinion, which U.S. president was the most successful world leader and why?
19.Which U.S. political thinkers, writers, and politicians would you enlist to advise you on matters of foreign policy and why?
20.Who is the first world leader you'd like to meet with and why?

When Earth looks like waterworld......

We'll be living in these......

Originally conceived in 1997, Lifepods are constructed using the most advanced 21st century automotive, aeronautic, nautical and RV technologies. Inspired by roaming mammals, the futuristic prefabs are designed as ‘quadrupedal fuselages’ with footings that can adjust to the contours of their environs, rather than disfiguring the landscape to fit to the house. All the modular pieces fit into a 40 ft container and can be shipped anywhere around the world. Using state-of-the-art technology, you and your Lifepod can roam the world un-tethered and off-the-grid

Graffiti on the train......

This morning on my way to work from the blue line I ran saw this sprayed on one of the walls in Logan square and thought it was worth remembering.

A lil sri lankan trivia?...............

M.I.A "Hit that"
Can you name a M.I.A song besides Paper Planes. I'm not hating on people that found out about her from that song. I'm glad that her music is finally getting the response it deserves (number 3 on the pop charts type look) but damn! Don't tell me you LOVE her music and the only song you heard was Paper Planes. Its coo. I understand. I'm gonna help you out. Here.

VMA'S best moment......

So, for ME. Personally, the VMA's were more than a little boring. Russel Brand is funny as hell just wasn't right for this crowd. It was a mixed reaction but this right here is def the best moment of the night. Kanye doing "Love Lockdown." This performance gives me an idea for what the video is going to be. Let's see if I'm right. Yessir.

Barack Responds to the RNC......

The Rain

I see you first.

Not in the form that you exist in but the signs that come before you. The dark clouds you roll with that foreshadow your arrival, the rolling thunder u hang around for survival scaring away the signs of your rival. You could never shine like the sun, so instead you chose to hide it, tucking the feelings it brings inside your shirt pocket. You usually pick your day sparingly, knowing that for every moment you exist is another you don't. Not to me. But today, your different. Your confident in your approach, taking your time to enjoy how far your reach is extending. It seems you came with more than the usual suspect, gustov's, hannah's, Ike's and such. You seem rejuvinated, basking in your new found glory. You haven't felt this way since she left you.

Staring out my window watching your reach cover over towers and lakes, followed by a whisper. Silenty the leaves on the trees began to tip, and suddenly this t-shirt won't cut it today. Suddenly its no longer summer and just as suddenly your whisper turns into a deep breath, warning the rest of us that you won't just be passing by this day. Your not just made of empty threats this morning. You dare us to ignore you, to enjoy our days as they have been. We accept your challenge. As we ourselves brace for the inevitable, knowing whats coming but not caring becasue our lives are more important than your moment. There is a second, your whisper stops, and for a moment it seems to be over.

Then you appear, first shyly peering over rooftops, soft steps onto the pavement feeling your way around before the main event. Your subtly hides your true purpose and like a the angry child you are, you take the inch and go for the mile. From those footsteps you find the confidence to take off running, faucet, waterfall, showerhead, all inspiration to you. Beating down the streets by the gallons, the clouds you hide behind open up to allow you total freedom and you take advantage. We no longer can igrore you, we just look for an escape, the unsuspecting, the innocent, looking for some way out. You don't care, you just want to fall and bring us down with you. Your puddles become quicksand as some of us find ourselves swimming in a pool we weren't looking for.

and just as it seems like this will last forever, like there will be no pots of gold, skittles rainbows type moments. you stop. The rolling waves of thunder began to feel distant, they, without lighting just don't see the fun. The clouds start moving without you, knowing you'll get the hint soon enough. and you do, backstepping the same way you came in. As you retreat into the clouds, sympathy creeps its way into your thoughts and you allow the sun a way back into the club. Not too much, just enough to give us a glimmer of hope, too allow our spirits to rise. More for your benifit than anything for you enjoy smashing those same spirit down again. and your gone. drifting away to find another place to touch down, another place to turn gray, red fitted's and bright kicks must piss you off. But, its cool. Its your job, its your existence. its who you are.

The Rain.

Picture this.....

12 Years ago, Do or Die dropped "Picture this" re-introduced Twista and gave another face to the windy city. On some random ish, Johny P came to my highschool and performed. I think he had a new single or something but. yea. Peep.

Not so far back flash back video.....

Jack's Mannequin "Dark Blue"

Girls of the summer......

This isn't about Zoe Kravitz,

although,

I wish I could see her walking down the street. No, instead this is about the wonderful time of year, when summer is nearing its end but it's still nowhere near fall. As I find myself enjoying the weather which will turn @ any moment (what r u gonna do....its the chi) I find myself gazing, not at the skyscrapers, or the lake, or the beach, or @ the distance between me and the receptionist in my financial aid office. I find myself gazing at legs and faces that match them. I love this time of year because all the girls standing in the line come chill a little closer to home. I love girls man. I love em all. I feel like I'm in the music video, and all of them are beautiful man. Maybe that's just my outlook right now, cause I've been putting things together all summer. Air Raid mixtape coming soon with 20 song on there. I'm excited about the material finally getting out there. Considering its free I hope you guys give it a show.

A new outlook matched by some music, I got a joint called Higher that might need a band by the way, and I'm still searching for a girl who doesn't mind singing backup behind ya boy. I just wrapped up a interview with The Lemur which was pretty dope, not nardwaurdian(made that word up.lol) But dope. I'm currently working on a music video for this song I made called "I'm Fresh" for all my fresh kids out here. um.....shows.....performing @ the funky buddha on the 17th....and I'm supposed to be doing something tonite, like a aids benefit I think.....um...more happening all the time. It just springs up but I love it...and I'm about to get 2 new tat's. Its true when they say its addictive, thats real.

Good things man though. I'm seeing too many of them though, maybe because I felt the summer was kind of dry. She's beautiful, and she's gorgeous, and I'm on that one, and damn! shoulda held out for THAT one. It's gonna be a good year for crew and I. I was talking to my friend yesterday and she brought up this idea of a word called relationship......Not for me. Unless I find a zoe or a rhianna in the fray, I'm single like pringles baby. If you think you qualify though, give it a shot, I'm taking a couple of em. lol.

Listening to her......

Lauryn Hill: The World is a hustle.
and I was just talking about missing Lauryn Hills voice a few weeks ago. I hope this a preview of things to come.

I'm not the only one laughing......

That dude Charles.......

I heard about this cat a couple months ago man, and I dig his passion to this music game. The Hello Kitty guitar is hilarious but you see his grind, one which is smarter than most of these dudes considering that instead of going on a tour he's touring his Imeem mixtapes on different blogs across the web. Dope.

"I just chose to communicate with people through rap"

Grace Jones got the hottest song of the summer....

Ok, obviously, I was kidding. The song is called corporate cannibal. The video is one of the most out there things I've stumbled upon but her lyrics are deep if you listen to them, once you understand what she's saying the video becomes complementary.

My favorite interviewer.....

The guys name is Nardwuar, and he is a canadian interviewer and musician. I've done a few (really, few, lol) interviews and one of the things I find boring is that alot of them ask the same questions, you see that in magazines and sht too when your reading about different artists, its all the same. I feel like alot of times, these guys set up a basic list of questions for everyone. This guy does his research and really gets into what make the artist who they are. I want to just chill with dude for a minute and see what he pulls out the breifcase when he talks to me. lol. Here's a couple interviews worth seeing.....

I'm looking for this shirt.....

Thanks for having me......

Shoutout to Marcus and his people for inviting to come perform this weekend. I had fun mayne. Sometimes it feels good to do some things for the kids. Especially when the world we're living in now is so crazy, they need something to look up to, not even that, they need something out there to let em know its not all bad. You can find ways to enjoy your life still even though everything is trying to tell you the opposite. It was funny cause I was trying to figure out what exactly I would be performing seeing as these kids were young enough to still be playing musical chairs (i.e: Styrofoam Cups wasn't gonna cut it thouhg) its cool tho, I did a joint call Give it to em pt.2. That was a lil better off. I'm glad I could do something nice tho...so thank for having me.

and shoutout to the youngn's who wanted my autograph. Lol. Hold on to that signature.
